Equipment Cost SystemThe Equipment Cost System module allows for the complete tracking of repair and maintenance expense and usage revenue for a piece of equipment, as well as the allocation of expenses to Job Cost when the equipment is used on a job. Equipment Cost is completely integrated with Sage MAS 90 · MAS 200 General Ledger and optionally Job Cost. FEATURES:
OPERATION: Equipment is categorized by equipment types, which establish various defaults for the equipment such as the unit of measure (hours or miles) and the G/L expense account. Equipment Cost Data Entry allows the user to post maintenance (expense) and usage (revenue) transactions. User-defined transaction codes allow the system to be as simple or detailed as required. Maintenance and usage transactions may be kept for a user-specified number of months or indefinitely. The system includes a number of
reports to analyze the Equipment Cost data. The Equipment Cost Detail
Transaction Report provides a complete listing of equipment transactions
for a specified time frame. The Equipment Profitability Report provides
Period-to-Date, Year-to-Date and Equipment-to-Date revenue versus
expense comparisons. The Equipment Analysis Report provides
cost-per-unit detail for equipment usage as well as expense. In order to aid in maintaining the
equipment, the system allows the user to create a preventive maintenance
schedule for each piece of equipment. By reviewing the transactions
that have been posted, the Preventive Maintenance Schedule report is a
tickler list of Preventive Maintenance items that need to be performed. The system allows for direct posting to Equipment Cost from Accounts Payable Invoice Data Entry, Manual Check Entry and Payroll Data Entry. These programs allow the user to post repair and maintenance expense to a piece of equipment and a transaction code in the same manner as posting to a job and a cost code. Additionally, Payroll Entry allows the operator time and equipment usage on a job to be posted on one entry.
